This multi-colored pattern is my Bauhaus design made for my digital media class. Before we began creating our own patterns, we studied the Bauhaus arts period (1919-1933) which contained many interesting events within the school's students and its history.

I gathered inspiration from many Bauhaus artists who use simple shapes and lines to create various types of art. The mainly warm-toned colors were used to visually invite viewers to observe the piece as homely and familiar. So, I gathered many reference images to sample a perfect color palette. Additionally, although the piece's general idea was taken from a multitude of other artists, I eventually came up with my final configuration.
After completing my color palette, I made a few thumbnails. I decided to fully commit on my seventh idea. For my final product I added slightly more detail such as lines and coloring. Below are my pattern design products!
The art elements I used consist of shapes, color, line, and space. I used lines, squares, circles, and rectangles with hues that mainly reflect the other shapes with colors like purple, pinks and yellows. There is also a slight space around the shapes to draw more attention to the colors. These elements ultimately create the design principle of pattern. The circles, semicircles, squares, etc. are used repeatedly, making a reflected pattern with different hues that will eventually repeat.
